Do you do evening meals?
We don’t provide evening meals because we are situated only a hundred metres from the start of the shops, restaurants and bars where there are more than a dozen different places to eat – see dining out information. return to top
Do you have Wifi access?
We have free Wifi which is boosted around the building. However, due to the fact that there is no fast service in Windermere and that the building has some very thick stone walls, it is not particularly strong in some areas. return to top
Do you have a car park?
Yes, we are fortunate as an accommodation provider in Windermere that we can offer one parking space for each room. Please note that due to the limited space available, the car park is for cars only. If you have a large or long vehicle it may not be possible to use the car park if we are full. Parking on nearby roads is restricted. Double parking may be required during busy periods and you will be asked to leave your car keys with reception. return to top
Do you have bedrooms on the ground floor?
No, all our bedrooms are either on the first or second floor. We do not have a lift or escalator. If you require extra help or information please telephone us to discuss your needs. return to top
What time is breakfast?
We serve breakfast between 8:15 am and 9:30 am. return to top
What time can we check in and out?
We guarantee check in from 3pm to 8pm. If you arrive earlier you may leave your car in the car park (but please let us know it is yours) and/or leave your luggage with us. We can also let you know when your room will be ready. Check out is 10:30 am. return to top
Do you offer an early check in and late check out service?
Yes, we can arrange this. There is a £20 charge. return to top
I have a train or bus to catch later on my departure day, can I leave my bags?
Yes, no problem. return to top
Do you allow pets?
No, we only accept guide dogs. return to top
Do you accommodate children?
We don’t have family rooms or facilities for very young children. We can accommodate an older child on a z-bed in some of our larger rooms. return to top
Can we have an extra person in our room or have a child sleep with us?
We are limited by fire regulations as to the number of people we may accommodate at any one time. We cannot have more guests than our number of registered bed spaces allow. return to top
What time is the pool open?
The pool is open from 8 am till 8pm except Wed (when it closes at 6pm). return to top
Do I need to bring towels for the pool?
You can but we have extra towels to lend out for swimming. return to top
Are there smoking areas?
Smoking is not permitted in the building but there are both covered and uncovered smoking points in the guest house grounds. return to top
How far are the bus and train stations?
Windermere train station is a 3 minute walk from the guest house. Buses drop you off at the same place. return to top
Are you gay friendly?

Can you organise flowers, champagne etc.?

Do you provide information about things to do?
We have lots of information in the things to do section and lots of flyers at the guest house. If you are interested in walking we can provide routes and advice as we are both keen walkers. return to top
